Taking a step back
mercury is in retrograde, babe
I feel the worse I’ve felt in years. It’s a combination of factors. For one, I hate being on sub, and I realized I’ve made a mistake—I chose to be well-informed about what’s going on with my submissions. Big news: the links to my spreadsheets have been deleted! I’m free! Girl who is going to be okay.
Being hyper aware of the industry’s epic highs and lows threw me into a writing slump. I swear I’m trying, guys. Nothing seems to stick because I’m so down all the time, in many areas of my life. And Mercury! It won’t stop going into the microwave! Stop spinning and sweating, you freak.
Some of you will know that I’m on meds for my anxiety. I used to be much more on top of my game with attenuating the effects of having anxiety, but I have to be honest and confess that I’ve grown lazy as hell. I haven’t been going on walks. I haven’t been going to the library. I’ve fallen into the same old trap of not wanting to be outside without my partner, who’s my heart, my shield, and my comfort. The good thing is that I’ve been here before, which means I know what to do to get myself up again.
Anyway, here’s my new Tav. Her name is Lunara, she’s a cleric of Selûne and, hopefully, BG3 will save me (save me, BG3…).
The plan is to be less informed, to have more fun, work on my health, and get back to it stronger.
Sorry for the less than cheery post, y’all. Oh, have you noticed that this Substack now has an actual title? I was looking through my old 2012 blogs and I missed having a more personalized little corner on the internet. In my mind, the new fonts and colors give it a fantasy-ish scroll ? newspaper ? feel.
See you soon!

i've been feeling that mercury effect this month before i even realised there was a retrograde going on. luckily it's coming to an end soon!
